In 2022, I took my first beginner wheel class as a way to put myself first, prioritize my time, and channel my brain power. Ceramics started as an exciting way to reengage with my creativity, but at the wheel I also found myself in the most meditative state I’d managed in years.

Something about the requirement to slow down, breathe deep, and be in tune with my body just sucked me right in. Over the last several years, I’ve seen myself grow at the craft, teaching ceramics classes and selling my pottery at art fairs in the KC metro.
